All lobbyists registered in West Virginia are required to submit Lobbyist
Activity Reports for the January 1 - April 30, 2016, reporting period by
Monday, May 16, the West Virginia Ethics Commission has announced. Blank
reporting forms will not be sent to lobbyists through the United States
Mail. Forms have been emailed to lobbyists and also are available on the
Ethics Commission’s website at www.ethics.wv.gov.
Even
if lobbyists have no lobbying activity or expenditures to report, they are
required to file an activity report.
Failure
to file activity reports by the May 16th deadline will result in a
fine of $10.00 for each business day the report is late up to a maximum of
$250.00. Completed forms will not be accepted via fax, although they may
be scanned and submitted via email to kimberly.p.pickens@wv.gov. If the reports are emailed, the originals
must be retained for a period of two years.
