West Virginia Ethics Commission Announces Lobbyist Activity Reports Due by January 17, 2017

CHARLESTON – The West Virginia Ethics Commission announced today that all lobbyists registered in West Virginia are required to submit Lobbyist Activity Reports for the September 1, 2016, to December 31, 2016, reporting period by January 17, 2017.  

Blank reporting forms are available on the Ethics Commission’s website at www.ethics.wv.gov.  

Even if a lobbyist has no lobbying activity or expenditures to report, he or she is required to file an activity report.  

Failure to file activity reports by January 17, 2017, will result in a fine of $10.00 for each business day the report is late up to a maximum of $250.00.  Completed forms will not be accepted via fax, although they may be scanned and submitted via email to EthicsLobbyistRegistrar@wv.gov.  If the reports are emailed, the originals must be retained for a period of two years.
