West Virginia Ethics Commission Announces May 15 Deadline for Lobbyists' Spending Reports

CHARLESTON, W.Va. –The West Virginia Ethics Commission announced today that West Virginia lobbyists must submit Lobbyist Activity Reports, covering the 2015-1 period from January 1, 2015, to April 30, 2015, no later than Friday, May 15, 2015. 

Lobbyists must report all lobbying-related expenditures and activity for the period by completing the following: 1) Lobbyist Activity Report Form 2015; 2) Schedule A:  WV Lobbyist Expenditure Details Form (if applicable); and 3) Schedule B:  Group Entertainment and Shared Expense Report Form (if applicable).  These forms will be sent to lobbyists via email and are also available on the Ethics Commission’s website at www.ethics.wv.gov

Lobbyists must file Lobbyist Activity Reports even if they conducted no lobbying-related expenditures or activity during the reporting period. Failure to file a Lobbyist Activity Report by the May 15, 2015 deadline will result in a fine of $10.00 for each business day the report is late, up to a maximum of $250.00.

Lobbyist Activity Reports must be completed and returned by U.S. Mail or hand-delivered to the West Virginia Ethics Commission at 210 Brooks Street, Suite 300, Charleston, WV 25301.  Reports will NOT be accepted via fax or e-mail.
